EL PIQUETE DE LONDRES ANUNCIA SU AUTODISOLUCIÓN UNA VEZ FINALIZADA SU TAREA EN LA BATALLA CONTRA LA IMPUNIDAD.
Compañeras y compañeros:
El Piquete de Londres - Comité Chileno Contra la Impunidad, en reunión realizada el 7/3/00, decidió unánimemente lo siguiente:
1. Nuestra organización se constituyo luego de la detención de Pinochet en Londres, con el único
objetivo de luchar incansablemente por la extradición de Pinochet a España. Durante 503 días el eje del caso Pinochet se radico en Londres. Hoy en día, luego del escape vergonzoso de Pinochet
a partir de un acuerdo político de los gobiernos de Chile, Reino Unido y España, el eje de la
lucha ha vuelto a Chile, donde se sigue librando la batalla contra la impunidad. Es hacia Chile
donde
debemos concentrar nuestros esfuerzos. Esto va a requerir nuevas formas de trabajo y
organización.
2. El 15 de Marzo el Piquete de Londres se reunirá por ultima vez a finiquitar las cosas
practicas y se emitirá una declaración publica. Esta decisión no implica en ningún sentido, que
los compañeros/as que constituyeron el Piquete de Londres, abandonen la lucha contra la
impunidad, sino que la instancia conocida como "El Piquete de Londres - Comité Chileno contra la
Impunidad" cesa su actividad con carácter definitivo. El exilio chileno en el Reino Unido y en el
mundo continuara su lucha para poner fin a la Impunidad en Chile y Latinoamérica.
3. Los miembros del Piquete de Londres, pertenecimos con orgullo a esta organización y recibimos
el apoyo solidario y cálido de todas partes del mundo. La experiencia del Piquete de Londres
quedara en nuestras memorias para siempre.

Dear Friends,
In the general meeting of El Piquete de Londres (Chile Committee Against Impunity) held on the 7th of March 2000 the following unanimous decisions were taken:
1. Our organisation was born on the day of the arrest of General Pinochet, with the sole
objective of helping, with all our strength and means, with the extradition of General Pinochet
to Spain. For 503 days the epicentre of the campaign to have Pinochet extradited took place here
in London. Today, following the shameful escape of Pinochet to Chile, as a direct consequence of
the political agreements between the governments of Chile, Spain and Great Britain, the
Pinochet's case has
returned to Chile. The chilean organizations who have been fighting against the impunity, now
require our support. It is therefore toward supporting their work that we should focus our
efforts. This will require new forms of expression and organisation.
2. On the 15th of March, El Piquete de Londres (Chile Committee Against Impunity), will hold its
last and final meeting, followed by a public declaration. This decision does not imply that the
members of El Piquete de Londres will not continue their efforts to put an end to Impunity in
Chile, it only means that the organisation known as El Piquete de Londres will cease all its
activities, which were principally those of supporting the extradition of General Pinochet to
Spain. The Chilean community in Great Britain and around the world, will continue its work to put
an end to Impunity in Chile and Latin America.
3. All the members of El Piquete de Londres are proud to have belonged to this organisation and
are grateful for all the solidarity and support that we received from all over the world. Our
time and work in El Piquete de Londres will forever live in our memory.
