This is an urgent message from the National Committee to Free Puerto Rican Prisoners of War and Political Prisoners. As you can read by the attached emails, Resident Commissioner Carlos Romero Barcelo has been quoted as stating that he would have no opposition to the prisoners release as long as their cases were treated on a one by one basis. This is a major change in his position and comes on the heels of prominent individuals from his party (the PNP, pro-Statehood Party) signing on to the campaign. Now is the time to push! It's Time to Bring Them Home!

As part of a coordinated Mother's Day Emergency Phone/Fax/Email In to the White House, we are asking that everyone ask at least five friends or family to do the same by Friday, May 7, 1999:

1) Phone the White House at 202/456.1111
2) Fax the White House at 202/456.2883
3) Email the White House at President@WhiteHouse.gov, and: Demand release for the Puerto Rican Political Prisoners!
